Pres Day returns to UC San Diego!
For 18 years UCSD's Presidents' Day tournament was a staple in the college ultimate circuit. Elite teams from around the country descended on San Diego, for 3 days of high level ultimate in beautiful 67 degree weather in the month of February. Poor weather conditions during the 19th annual tournament caused a slight hiccup in the tournament's run and resulted in Presidents' day taking a hiatus in 2006. Since then, competition has sought to fill the void left by ultimate's homage to George and Abe. After getting back on our feet with last year's tournament, UCSD is determined to make PresDay's 21st one to remember.
The 3 day tourney will once again involve 20 open teams battling through pool play, power pools and brackets to be crowned 2008's champion and to take home the 1st annual Presidents' Day trophy. In addition to all of the other trappings of Presidents' Days past, this year we have partnered with VC ultimate to form the inaugural All-PresDay all-star team who will receive free customized swag. We have also enlisted the support of UCSD's own television station, SRTV, to provide no less than 4 HD cameras to roam the fields.
Come be part of the rejuvenation of one of the premier west coast spring tournaments.
Pools and attending teams are now posted.
